My daughter has a 14" baby doll "that needs a hat" or so she says. The doll has a 12 1/2" head - so I decided to do a hat with a K2P2 ribbing in the mystery pinkish/orange yarn and then St st for the rest of the hat in white. I did a little shaping at the top before ending, and instead of a pompom, I crocheted a chain of 15, sl st in the beginning chain, *ch 15, sl st in the beginning ch* until I had a loopy type of pompom - turned out quite cute.
